Yuga Labs Cancel ‘Super Punk World’ Auction ❌

In undoubtedly the biggest story of the week, Yuga Labs announced - then swiftly cancelled - Super Punk World, a 500-piece CryptoPunk-derivative collection from NYC-based painter Nina Chanel, following community backlash.

Reaction to the collection’s announcement was overwhelming negative, with criticism focused on the creation of a derivative collection, the art itself, and Yuga’s decision to cancel so quickly.

Yuga Labs co-founder Greg Solano has since stated that “Yuga will no longer touch Punks.”

Immutable Passport Hits 1M+ Signups 📈

Web3 games publisher Immutable have announced that they’ve hit 1 million signups for their wallet solution, Immutable Passport.

Designed as an easy-to-use non-custodial wallet, Immutable claims that Passport combines “battle-tested” security with frictionless gameplay, allowing for seamless web3 gaming.

This comes as Guild of Guardians, their self-developed mobile idle RPG, has just launched its $1M ‘Age of the Dread’ play phase.

OpenSea Launch $5 Weekly NFT Drops 💵

OpenSea have announced ‘Get Based’, a weekly series of $5 or less NFT drops on Ethereum Layer-2, Base.

Kicking-off yesterday, the series will include works from 15 artists, and ties in to Base’s “On Chain Summer II” promotion, with over $2.3M in prizes up for grabs.
