ZKsync unveil ZK token - and see big backlash 👀
Zero-knowledge EVM blockchain ZKsync unveiled plans to airdrop its ZK Token starting next week - but faced immediate backlash over the airdrop criteria and perceived poor anti-Sybil measures.
Many long-term users expressed dismay at being ineligible for the airdrop, with liquidity providers given higher weight as opposed to metrics such as trading volume and number of transactions.
ZKsync has responded by claiming that they’re fighting a misinformation network, including calling out individual X users, which has been met with a mixed response.
The Sandbox raise $20M at $1B valuation 💰
Metaverse platform The Sandbox has raised $20M USD in its latest funding round, taking its valuation to $1 billion USD.
Developers TSB Gaming will use these funds to further development of The Sandbox’s ecosystem, including updates to user tools, new social interactions, a new multiplayer system, and an iOS and Android release.
These features are expected to arrive in 2025.
SHRAPNEL announce $100k reward playtest 🎮
Web3 extraction shooter SHRAPNEL has announced its upcoming STX3.1 playtest, taking place from June 24-28, will feature a 1 million $SHRAP prize pool, valued at $100,000 USD at the time of writing.
To join the playtest, participants must purchase an Extraction Pack, with the cheapest Basic tier priced at $9.99 USD.
By completing in-game missions during the playtest, players will be rewarded with a share of the $SHRAP tokens from the reward pool.
