CryptoPunk #5822 sold… but at what cost? 🤔
CryptoPunk #5822 – the most expensive CryptoPunk – has been resold by Deepak Thapliyal, CEO of Chain, for an undisclosed amount.
One of 9 so-called ‘Alien Punks’, this NFT was purchased by Thapliyal for 8,000 ETH in February 2022, equivalent to almost $24 million USD.
Both the buyer and sale price are unknown, though it is speculated that the NFT was sold at a considerable loss, given the decline in NFT floor prices, the cooling of interest in CryptoPunks, and the discreet nature of the sale.
Ember Sword moves blockchain (again) ➡️
Bright Star Studios have announced that their web3 MMORPG Ember Sword will migrate from Immutable to the Mantle Network, another Layer-2 solution on Ethereum.
This marks the third time that Ember Sword has switched chains, having originally switched to Immutable from Polygon in November 2021.
Mark Laursen, CEO and Co-founder of Bright Star Studios, states that the move will enable them to deliver “an unprecedented onboarding experience” that will “[enhance] how players control their in-game assets”, and make the game more accessible for web2 players.
Project Dragon Ep. 2 set for August 29 🐉
Otherside have announced that Episode 2 of Project Dragon will debut on August 29 at 22:00 UTC.
An experience akin to World-vs-World in Guild Wars 2, Project Dragon sees players compete in large-scale team battles within the Otherside metaverse.
Episode 1 was plagued with technical difficulties, although participants praised the introduction of Meetropolis and the potential at hand.
