Magic Eden introduce optional royalties 👀
Magic Eden have introduced an option for NFT buyers to opt-out of paying creator royalties on EVM chains - unless the creator utilises code-based features provided by the popular marketplace to enforce them.
This approach provides more flexibility for buyers, however it raises questions about the diminishing popularity of creator royalties in NFTs, and what effect this could have on the industry long-term.
Reactions have been mixed, with some praising Magic Eden for giving power to collectors, whilst others have expressed concern about the impact this could have on NFT creators.
Cool Cats premiere ‘The Milk Chug’ Season 1 🎬
Cool Cats have held the official debut of Season One of animated series ‘The Milk Chug’ with episodes 1-3 premiering on YouTube on Thursday.
The 13-episode series - each with a 1-2min runtime - is the result of a partnership between Cool Cats and Emmy Award-winning animation studio Titmouse, who’s most popular works include the likes of Big Mouth and Metalocalypse.
The series will feature a cohort of notable voice actors, including Zeno Robinson (Dragon Ball Super), Dan Stevens (Cuckoo), Natasha Leggero (Ugly Americans), Maggie Lawson (Lethal Weapon) and Dana Snyder (Aqua Teen Hunger Force).
XProtocol reveal XForge smartphone 📳
Ethereum Layer-3 network XProtocol have revealed that they will launch a Web3-compatible gaming smartphone later this year, titled the XForge.
Priced at $299 USD, this Android device claims to be the world’s first “DePIN phone”, and will utilise the XProtocol blockchain to allow users to earn a variety of rewards and airdrops.
The XForge will feature a Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 processor, with 256GB of storage and 12GB of RAM. It will initially deploy its Web3 features on the Base-powered Layer-3 XProtocol chain, but plans to migrate to its own Layer-1 network in future.
