Off The Grid hits #1 on the Epic Games Store 🏆

Web3 battle royale title Off The Grid has hit the top of the free-to-play list on the Epic Games Store, beating established titles such as Fortnite and Rocket League.

This comes as Off The Grid – developed by Gunzilla Games – entered Early Access on PC, Xbox Series X/S and PS5 last week, which saw livestreams from top gaming influencers such as Ninja, Scump and TimTheTatman.

The title is already considered to be the most successful blockchain game thus far at attracting a mainstream gaming audience.

Azra Games raise $42.7M for web3 RPGs ⚔️

Game development studio Azra Games has raised $42.7 million in a Series A funding round led by Pantera Capital, with contributions from a16z crypto, A16Z Games, and NFX.

Founded in 2022 by EA veteran Mark Otero, Azra Games are building mobile RPGs that use blockchain to give players true ownership of their in-game assets. The studio’s flagship project, Project Legends, is currently in development.

News of the investment has caught the attention of several mainstream outlets – particular amidst an especially rough year for the games industry. The funding aims to support and drive what Azra are describing as the “4th generation of mobile RPGs”.

Yuga sell 10KTF to Emmy-winning art company 👀

Yuga Labs have sold NFT project 10KTF to Emmy Award-winning art and design company Possible Productions, forming a new company: Kagami.

Possible Productions is a creative studio with expertise in art and design, known for its work on events such as Coachella and the Super Bowl Halftime Show - and have been a critical partner of both 10KTF and Yuga Labs’ Otherside.

The existing 10KTF team will merge with the Possible Productions team at Kagami, with the goal to expand the 10KTF brand and strengthen existing ties with the Otherside metaverse.
